Best Beaches for Maternity Photos on Oahu
Choosing the right backdrop makes all the difference for a beautiful session. As an experienced babymoon Oahu photographer team, we know the island’s most breathtaking and easy-to-access locations to help you feel comfortable while capturing stunning, natural images.
Lanikai Beach Sunrise
This beach only works at sunrise, but the beautiful sand, less crowded feel, and gorgeous lighting make such a big difference!
Makua Beach Sunrise
The west side of Oahu is a very underrated place to take photos but this is our absolute favorite if you want to also take some underwater photos. Inquire about that as an extra add on.
Kualoa Sunset
If you're craving a more unique background than just a beach, Kualoa Beach area is for you. Not only do you get the beautiful palm tree lined beach, but the magestic Ko'olau mountians. The lush greenery will give you lots of backgrounds to choose from!
Wai'alae Sunset
This secluded beach close to Waikiki adds Hawaiian charm with palm trees and calm waves.

How it works
While in the booking proposal, you'll pick your date, fill out a questionnaire, sign your contract and pay for your session all in one place. Once your session is paid for you are officially booked. We will email to nail down the perfect location. You will be sent a What to Wear Guide just in case you need a little help picking your outfits.

In 4-6 weeks, you'll get a link to a gallery to select your 50+ photos from all the best ones we have edited. After selecting your photos you'll get a link to download your images. You'll have the option to pay for the remainder of the gallery or individual photos too.

We had planned a babymoon to Oahu & what better way to celebrate this blessing by having a photoshoot. From the start their website was easy to navigate and convenient in choosing a desired date & time. Communication was amazing through out the process. Enzo was very nice, friendly, and made us feel comfortable throughout the shoot. He even gave us some cool island knowledge and about the jellyfish we saw! We enjoyed our time with him & the moments he was able to capture.

Yes, the weather can be unpredictable, so we usually only pay attention to it the night before the session. If the rain looks light, we can usually wait under a tree for a few minutes when the rain comes, but keep doing the session. (This is a great way to get epic rainbow shots!) Or if it looks really bad we will reschedule. If there is no way to reschedule before you go home, we will only be able to refund 30% of your payment fee.
Can we reschedule the session if it rains?
After we are done editing your gallery, you will receive a link via email. You will then select your photos directly in the gallery. Once you have selected the correct number of photos you will be sent a downloadable gallery without watermarks. If you then decide to pay for your full gallery, please let us know.
How does selecting photos after the session work?
We classically edit photos, which means distractions in the background and coloring are the extend of our edits. We aim for authenticity, so we will not be photoshopping people to make them thinner or extensively edit blemishes, scars, or other ‘imperfections’. If you are hoping for the look you get with filters on social media, we won’t be able to match that level of editing.

what time is the best in my pregnancy to get photos done?
Absolutely! We love capturing the whole family's excitement. Your partner and any older siblings are more than welcome to join the session at no extra cost. Seeing a big sibling kiss mama's belly makes for some of the most heartwarming photos imaginable.
Flowing maxi dresses are always a stunning choice for maternity photos, especially on the beach where the wind can catch the fabric beautifully. We recommend soft, neutral colors or beautiful jewel tones. We will send you a full styling guide when you book!
We generally recommend scheduling your maternity session between 28 and 34 weeks. During this time, your bump is usually beautifully round and prominent, but you are still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session without feeling too tired.
We specialize in candid photos, and making the whole experience fun and not too formal. We'll be running and playing and that usually loosens the kids up enough to get great smiles. However, there are things you can do to make their time easier: Make sure they are fed before the session (and bring extra snacks just incase); Don't have unrealistic expectations--it's ok for them to be shy or not want to sit still. We can still get great images as we go with the flow and follow their lead. Know that they will follow your own attitude, so try your best to be there early, and avoid any stressful situations so you can be a calm presence for them
