I know what you are thinking. Do I really need flowers for my elopement?
Answer: Heck YES (to the power of 10)!
Even if you are not having a traditional wedding, flowers add a little extra something, and don’t have to break the bank, and they elevate your look very easily!
I would 100% recommend getting a bouquet and boutonniere combo for your elopement. It really ups the feel of the elopement and can help brides feel less anxious about what to do with their hands. You can always put the bouquet down so it’s not in all the pictures, too.
Where can I find flowers for my Elopement?
You can find local florists who specialize in tropical flowers. Our favorite florist on Oahu is Watanabe Floral. If you are going a cheaper route, Costco always has leis and tropical flower stems that you could use to elevate your pictures on the cheap. Foodland Farms locations also have a variety of fresh flowers or leis available at any given time.
The Haku lei, Lei Po’o or flower crown is also a gorgeous addition that can make your Hawaiian elopement that much more tropical. These items are generally readily available at certain grocery stores. Safeway and Foodland Farms usually have them and can be purchased for less than $100.
There are several people that specialize in Haku Leis for brides, and those tend to go up in price depending on which flowers you are hoping to have in them.
One thing to keep in mind when thinking about a Haku Lei is the bigger the lei, the heavier it will be. It may give you a headache if it is too large! So think about taking it off for some of the pictures to avoid that.
Whatever kind of elopement flowers you choose, it will be a beautiful addition to your day.
