I feel like there are a few wedding and elopement accessories that are simply too good not to bring. Wedding veils are one of those top accessories. It’s like the cherry on top of your favorite ice cream sundae , the spicy bits you put on your pizza , or that cold Coke on a hot day.
Wedding veils look amazing in photographs. If a bride has a wedding veil I make sure to make it the star of the show and take lots of different photos with it on. Here are some of my favorite veil poses: as part of the bride’s outfit, over the couple, used with the wind, to place accessories on during the detailed images, and many many more!
As long as you choose the small times to wear wedding veils, you don’t have to be uncomfortable all day long. If you are looking for that ‘amazing wedding veil photograph’ but don’t want to have to wear it all day, then put it on for photos and take it off. My wife didn’t want to wear a veil all day so thought that she shouldn’t get one. She didn’t realize that she could have one for a few pictures and then take it off. If you want the picture, go for it!
Did you know long wedding veils go for under $20 on amazon? You can get super nice patterned ones too, but there is a wide variety to fit within anyone’s budget. Generally, they are cheap and can be folded to fit practically anywhere.
You can find some more ornate and beautiful wedding veils if you are having one as part of your overall look, but make sure to try them on! Brides have commented that their veils are quite heavy and would have liked a lighter one.
All in all, as a wedding photographer I love when brides have wedding veils and think you should have one for your special day!
